Technical and Practical Guidelines:
I use 35mm slides, on a slide projector, which I bring myself. I use a remote control, so I can stand up front near the images.
Your guild needs to supply:
- A room that can be darkened
- An audiovisual cart or table for my projector
- Extension cord
- A screen or pressed white fabric taped or pinned to a wall
- Table for exhibiting my books, for show or sale
- Optional, but nice: podium or table I can put my notes on; a little light; a mike if the room and group are large (otherwise, I have a good, strong voice).
Guidelines for Fees:
Generally, I charge $300 per slide lecture, plus transportation costs. If I need to stay overnight, I’m hoping you’ll make arrangements for non-smoking accommodations or home hospitality.
If your guild is small and the travel is minimal, if you are booking me for a workshop during the same visit, OR if you can help me coordinate other programs for a neighboring guild on the day before or the day after, I may be able to negotiate on my fee.
